Awesome, found another bike I really needed. n+1
Chris was great to work with, answered all our questions and took the time to set up multiple bikes for test rides. Paul (manager) was really helpful and explained a lot to my wife and I who have minimal cycling experience. Got a great deal on a fuji and left feeling more confident about my choice on my purchase thanks to the excellent customer service. Highly recommend this store!
I purchase a commuter bicycle as a birthday gift for my son to use at college. My son did not really pay attention to it until it was time to go to college and then decided it was not the correct type for him. Paul W., the store manager, could not have been better. Despite the fact that we did not have our receipt, Paul found it in the computer (not as easy as you may think) and gave us a full refund on the bicycle. Paul worked with us to find a bicycle that y son loves and kept the price within $30 of our original purchase price. The store closed at 8:00pm - Paul stayed late that night to make sure we had the best bicycle, that is was properly fit, and that we were happy with our purchase. I have been to other stores (as I bet you have) where they simply try to move merchandise. If that has ever been your experience, I HIGHLY recommend you go to Performance Bicycle. Paul and his staff are committed to a great customer experience. I will never purchase a bicycle from another store.
I've been considering upgrading from my mountain bike to a street bike for quite some time now and when my wife and I were casually browsing at this store over the weekend, I noticed a sign that said they accepted trade ins. So I went home, loaded my mountain bike into my van, and took it up to the shop to see if they could put me on a road bike. I'd already made up my mind to buy one, even if my mountain bike was only worth $50... I was ready to pull the trigger. When I got back to the store, I was shocked at how rude and condescending some of the people on staff here were to me. Not only did the technician evaluating my mountain bike look pissed that he was having to take time out of his day to evaluate my bike, he made it a point after 15 minutes of going over it to tell me that it wasn't worth anything, the frame was scratched, the chain needed replacement, the tire tube was bad... but it was like he was trying to insult me. I have never had such horrible customer service when I walked into a place and TOLD them that I wanted to spend money at their store. He could have said, "We'll give you $10 for it," and I would have accepted that and bought a bike from you! Instead he said, "I'm sure it's worth something to someone somewhere," and sent me on my way. So, I went down the street to a competitor (who refuses to accept trade-ins), they fitted me for a $1,000 Specialized, and I bought it. Picture included. I'm incredibly happy with it and will not be returning to Performance Bicycle in the future. I highly recommend you go down the street to Montgomery and visit the bike shop there. Not only are they more helpful, but they don't condescend to you, they don't insult you, and they don't make you feel bad if you're not Bobby Bicycle, Tour De France wannabe. You guys need some customer service training, STAT.
Very, very impressed. Great advise from both Matt and Paul regarding my bike selection and Kevin rebuilt a Mountain Bike that I first bought in 1987 and did a fantastic job! These guys are not only good dudes, but very trustworthy. Top notch bike shore in the heart of Kenwood. I won't go anywhere else in town. Thanks guys!
