"The food is overpriced"
After going on my own on multiple occasions and not having one single issue with the call buttons and pairing it with the amount of older people berate their server when they were clearly not hitting the button makes me believe the people complaining about them not working are just as stupid as the people complaining about not being able to see their food. You need to PRESS the button, not caress it like a child.
"Call buttons don't work"
Apparently not bright enough to see the food in front of you.
"The aisle lights are too bright"
Took Family as a special treat on Christmas. After buying tickets was told only soda and candy, kitchen and bar were closed. Could have went to any theater and got candy and soda. Service staff was super slow and complaining about Bar and food closures also. I really don't need to hear them complain too. Overheard our server saying she had to cover other films also. Also had a shadow at the bottom of the screen ( theater 8) was maybe a foot, foot and a half up from the bottom ran across the whole screen. I could only say go else where, let them work out the issues. Maybe try them in 6 months .
The theatre is nice. The service however, is horrible. Needless to say I received a full refund on my food, and a voucher for a free movie because it was just that bad. My sister and I went. We got into the theatre 1/2 hour before the movie started. Waited 20 minutes for a server. We ordered- 2 bowls of Mac and cheese, lettuce wraps, a beer and a sweet tea. A half hour later, our drinks came. 45 minutes into, one bowl of Mac and one lettuce wrap. The other bowl of Mac miraculously never made it into the system, so my sister didn’t receive her food until 1 1/2 of sitting there. This was after informing about 5 staff members. We shared a napkin. Getting silverware was impossible. There was no toilet paper in the bathrooms. It was cold as hell. I could go on. I’m happy we got refunded, but I’m not happy the manager used a sold out showing of a movie as an excuse. Marvel movies always sell out, you knew it was coming, staff appropriately. I don’t care how busy you are, 1 1/2 wait on one bowl of Mac and a shared napkin is inexcusable. I don’t foresee myself going back, which is a shame, because the theatre has lots of perks and potential. But yeah. NOPE.
"The service is slow"
"I can't see my food while I'm eating"
There are a lot of negative reviews here, a majority of them come from ridiculous complaints.
When this place first opened I was so excited to have a dine-in theater near where I live. Now? I’d rather just go to Oakley. I never seem to have a smooth experience here anymore. First red flag for me was when we went to see Wonder Woman and they decided to restart the movie about half an hour in for a couple of people who got there late, despite everyone else already in their seats. The final red flag was today when we went to see The Last Jedi. We placed our order for a couple of sodas and a popcorn. It was a good 45 minutes into the show before we got our drinks, one of which was the wrong kind of soda. Then it was another 15 minutes before we got our COLD popcorn without the extra butter we had asked for. I could’ve gotten better service at McDonald’s. Lesson learned, we’re sticking with Oakley’s theater from now on.
The food costs the same as Bar Louie next door or any other non-fast food place nearby. For some reason people think because they're buying dinner at a movie theater they deserve a discount when in reality it should be them charging more. It's a movie theater people, if you got issues with the price of food then screw off to an actual restaurant where you'll end up paying more.
"The picture quality is bad, my TV at home has better quality"
This complaint comes up a lot and all I'm seeing is "I'm too stupid to eat in the dark.". It's amazing that these people have managed to eat popcorn in theaters for their entire lives, honestly the theaters are not that dark and If you are having difficulties eating your food then you need to get some glasses.
Yes the service is slow, when it's actually busy. If you're like me or any other normal theater goer, you'll try to arrive a little early to the theater so you can grab your drinks/popcorn and sit down with time to spare. See, when I've gone and there have been maybe 3-5 other people in the theater, I've been serviced immediately and receive my popcorn right before the trailers start. Other times I've showed up to a completely packed theater and didn't get my order until a few minutes into the movie. It's all about timing people, think about it for a little bit.
We've been to this theater several times. The seating is great. Go for the seats and the movie. Eat at any of the nearby restaurants -- don't waste your money or time on the food here!! The food is massively overpriced, and the quality is abysmal. Service is PAINFULLY slow. I had hoped the food and service would improve over time--but it now looks like management can't get a handle on the problems.
It's almost like at the movies, you're seeing it through a projector onto a sheet of cloth and not sitting 5 feet away from a television screen. If you think the quality is bad then you need to check out the surrounding theaters that have actual messed up screens.
A lot of the reviews here are from people who have visited multiple times and had pleasant experiences, but not once did they leave a review saying they had a good first, second, third, etc visit. They visit again and the service was slow, suddenly that earns the place a one star review and you're never going back there.
It's a great theater and it's in a great area with plenty to do. The prices are fair and comparable to other theaters in the area. The room size is great and service has been exactly how I expected it on every visit. It's a great theater, but a lot of these negative comments about the place are from people who can't tell left from right.
