This is one of the nicest zoos I've been to. They make great use of natural terrain and artificial boundaries to make it look a lot bigger than it really is.

The zoo has handlers that go around to different buildings or areas of the zoo and show small animals to the guests and answer questions about them. My daughter likes seeing all the different kinds of snakes and comparing how ones that live in a desert may have scales that feel different from ones that live near water.

We feel like we are visiting a deserted zoo.

We wish we would have been given an honest assessment when we called.

This zoo has an excellent variety of animals. The exhibits are thoughtfully arranged and the animals seem content. They have a solar awning above a large portion of their parking lot. This helps to keep cats cool and generates electricity. They do a lot of good for many different species in and out of the zoo. A season pass is a good investment if you plan to visit more than once. You get free parking and discounts on food and merchandise on top of unlimited visits with the pass.

I grew up in the Cincinnati area and have been going to the zoo for about 50 years now...it's changed quite a bit in that time, but it has some great exhibits and really good programs for education and breeding endangered animals.

Of course food and drinks inside the zoo are pretty expensive. It's great that you can buy a souvenir plastic cup for around $6 and then, with the membership discount, refill the cup for $.89 whenever you want. The zoo has soft serve ice cream at several locations. I wish they'd offer a souvenir ice cream dish that you could get refilled whenever you visit for a discounted price. I and all the other parents I go here with would really appreciate that.

A fantastic zoo experience amidst a well maintained botanical paradise. The animals are in natural settings and seem truly content, even playful. The 3-month old baby black rhino was adorable. The paths between exhibits are an attraction all their own. Lots of pleasant scenery and shade. Plenty of good choices available for food and snacks -- I highly recommend the pub style soft pretzels available only at The Watering Hole near the main entrance! Be sure and arrive at the zoo early, especially on weekends. You'll miss some of the crowds and the animals will be more active.

My family are members and we go about once a month. We like to take our time, pick out a handful of animals to see each trip, and spend some time watching them, their behavior, and talking with the kids about why they may act certain ways or have different colors.

We came all the way from Texas to see baby Fiona, but it was too cold. We called the zoo before booking our trip and were assured that even if it was too cold for the hippos most of the other animals would be out.

The lights at night were awesome, but if you are coming to see the animals, wait until April.

I love the zoo! My daughter loves it too. I bought a family membership shortly after my daughter was born. Even though our daughter wasn't old enough to be aware of any of the animals yet, this was a great place to go to get out of the house. Now she's a year old and loves seeing all the animals. The price of membership has gone up around $50 from last year, but it's still worth it to us. The number of times we visit per year more than covers the cost of membership. Plus, with the gold membership we've been able to take a lot of friends for free throughout the year.

There are more people staffing the zoo and cold visitors than there are animals.
